About Us
Our story
The Blue Book is a family project - a voluntary initiative which came about through personal experience. Adele, the Founder, felt there was a need to have something tangible that summarised in one place the support and activities available, particularly on diagnosis of dementia.
The seed was planted, and the first booklet for West Northumberland was produced in 2017 and circulated to frontline organisations, local libraries and GP practices, and other organisations across the area.
The Blue Book is updated each year as more organisations come on board and then shared with the community as digital and hard copies. Hard copies of The Blue Book and delivery are free of charge.
Our mission
Our family mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of older people and those living with dementia, and to reach as many people as possible.
To date, we've distributed over 70,000 copies of The Blue Book and aim to increase this number each year!
